However, buying it without the promos is still worth the money, especially considering how much less it costs used. They are very useful, which often isn't the case with the video game pack-ins these days. Also, if you buy it new, the cards that come with it are a nice bonus. You can also ask your question on our Yu-Gi-Oh Power of Chaos: Yugi the Destiny Questions & Answers page.
So this is a fun game, great graphics, very engaging, and will have you playing for quite some time. If you have any cheats or tips for Yu-Gi-Oh Power of Chaos: Yugi the Destiny please send them in here. Also, the one card per duel rate makes it so that it takes quite a long time to win enough cards to beef-up your deck and win consistently.
It is a game that, without a story, is still fairly entertaining and great practice for duelist looking to hone their skills.

Another plus is there is no duelist level ranking or anything like that, so if you get a card, it can go straight in your deck (having played Sacred Cards nearly to death, the biggest frustration was often getting a great cad and not ranking highly enough to use it). I found the challenge of having to win against the overwhelming odds a plus, though, as it really helps hone your skill, and gets you thinking creatively. The only cards available are those in Legend of Blue Eyes, the starter decks (Yugi, maybe others) and some cards from other packs that are staple cards of Yugi's (Mirror Force from Metal Raiders). However, with each duel you are awarded cards and, slowly but surely, are able to beef up your deck. It can be somewhat frustrating trying to eke out victories against an opponent with better cards who has a knack for ass embling Exodia and winning automatically-often just as you gain the upper hand. The cards are fairly weak, which would not necessarily be a big problem if Yugi didn't have a great deck right from the get-go. Also, when you start out, you have an extremely low quality deck. You can either do a single duel or a match, and which option one chooses determines how many cards they are awarded in the case of a victory (one for duel, three for a match). However, there are several things buyers should know: firstly, you only duel Yugi. I find it very entertaining, and was very impressed with the graphics of the game, in terms of the card detail. While there is no story-you simply duel Yugi over and over-it is still, in my opinion, a great game.

The overall result makes for an ideal introduction for the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, which should win a few new fans from the virgin PC territory.Very engaging, often challenging, and absolutely worth the money! You also get visually impressive, detailed representations of the cards, thanks to the added power of your average PC. As is generally the case with trading card games, the ultimate challenge is to collect them all - obviously in this case that means 155, which is quite a task.īeing a PC title, Yugi the Destiny benefits from a hassle-free, mouse-based control interface that gives you powerful control over your deck. When the opponent's hit-points are depleted, that particular game is won. In each case you're dealt a number of trap, monster and spell cards from a deck of 155, which you then have to combine in order to launch attacks on those held by Yami Yugi or to defend from his attacks.
Once you feel you can handle the challenge, you're then ready to face Yami Yugi in either 'best out of three' Match Duel battles or Single Duels.

Thankfully, the game comes complete with a comprehensive tutorial (a feature strongly lacking from some Yu-Gi-Oh titles) designed to ease you into the complexities of the game by explaining the many possibilities the cards afford via a series of visual demonstrations, with Yami Yugi himself offering advice and playing tips. Now this in itself is no easy task, and anyone familiar with Yu-Gi-Oh! will attest that the game itself is far from simple. The game itself has been designed to introduce the PC gaming community to the joys of the Yu-Gi-Oh! concept, offering a technically impressive recreation of the strategic card game, in which players challenge the series' ultimate master - Yami Yugi. It also looks a lot like a posh box of chocolates. As some kind of celebratory measure, a Limited Collector's Edition of the game has also been released, complete with a pack of the trading cards and novelty packaging, designed to resemble the famous triangular Millennium Puzzle, which is synonymous with the series. Konami's popular trading card series makes its first appearance on the PC with the release of Yugi the Destiny, the first in a forthcoming series of Power of Chaos titles.
